Christmas Workers Rights

Client: The Labour Party

Type: Poster Design, Social Media Content, Campaign Design

Disciplines: Graphic Design - Illustration - Digital Design

In 2023 I was approached by the Labour Party (IRE) to create a series of compelling graphics which were to highlight Retail Workers’ rights during the Christmas period.

The client wanted to invoke some of the vintage graphics that the Labour Party had used as far back as the 1980s as well as an analogous hand-drawn feeling. I wanted to incorporate the Labour Parts iconic symbol of the starry plough which is a symbol synonymous with the ICA, the Irish Republic and the Labour Moment.

The final deliverable was four poster graphics which were to be used across social media as well as print material. The client saw great engagement with these graphics and has continued to use them in the 2024 Christmas period.

The hero graphic was aimed directly at retail workers who often feel overwhelmed during the Christmas period and I wanted to show this by using Christmas presents and objects as an avalanche falling onto the worker giving a sense of overwhelmed frustration. The three other posters featured well-known Christmas-themed objects but used the Labour Party’s star logo to elicit a strong brand message.
